Arizona Summer and passing time and packing for camping

Sunrise Peak

We survived our first Arizona Summer and overall I gotta say it wasn’t bad. So much better than Winter in Iowa or Kansas. That’s all I’m going to say about it because there really is nothing to complain about.

This Saturday Izaak and I leave for San Francisco to camp on the beach. I’m getting more involved in the planning and packing for camping trips in the hopes of someday going out all on my own. I have never camped alone before but would love to try it. Yes, I’m going to go all Cheryl Strayed someday.

This trip is a little tricky. We’ll be car camping but we are flying to SFO and are limiting what we bring to avoid checked bag fees. My list is short so far but will be growing.

  1. Tent
  2. Sleeping pad
  3. Sleeping bag
  4. Stove
  5. Food
  6. Coffee cup!
  7. Bug spray
  8. Warm clothes
  9. Booze
  10. Firewood

What are your camp essentials? What do you love and can’t do without?
