It’s time to throw away that packet french onion dip. This is the real deal! We came up with this while getting our weekly veggies from our most awesome veggie growing neighbor. She was telling us about this special way to cook onions, and while we were walking home we decided it would make a brilliant dip.
The next week we were at our neighbors house getting our veggie fix and told her about the dip we made out of her onion idea. She loved the idea.
A couple weeks later we were picking up more veggies (we may have a veggie problem), and our neighbor said she made this dip three times for different events and everyone loved it at each one!
French Onion Dip
One large sweet onion
1 tbsp beef bouillon paste
3 cloves garlic
1 tbsp butter
8 oz cream cheese
16 oz sour cream
Preheat oven to 400ºF
Cut off the top of (and bottom) the onion and with a melon baller scoop out a bit of the middle.
Fill the middle with beef bouillon, garlic cloves, and butter.
Wrap in foil and bake for about 45 minutes or until the onion is soft.
Place cream cheese, sour cream, and onion packet in a food processor.
Pulse until combined.
Great with chips or veggies.
This will be my last unhealthy recipe for a while. I’m on a 3 month health kick, and I don’t know exactly how to feel about it yet. Good. I mean, I feel good that I’m starting to feel good, but I miss pizza already, and I’m only 4 days in.
