Butcher Jones Trail

We ventured out this morning for a nice long hike. We settled on a trail that had a little something different than regular desert views. The Butcher Jones Trail was it. intothedeepIt took us about 20’ish minutes to get there from Scottsdale.

It looks like a fun place to kayak or paddle board (summer time, maybe?). Appears to be a good fishing hole.

We went out to Burro Cove to see the view of the Four Peaks. Well worth the extra hike.

bj_hikingGetting closer. The terrain changes pretty dramatically throughout the hike.

We made it. After getting back to the jeep we took a little trip on the jeep trail right beside the recreation area. Really disappointed in how uncared for the area was. Trash everywhere! It made me feel old to complain about it but come on people! Take care of the places you like to play in.

The cold beer and AZ Outdoor Magazine at KO’s after the hike hit the spot.
